Building Your LinkedIn Profile

I found some great articles and infographics to help aid you in setting up and building out your LinkedIn profile, which can serve as an online master resume.  

The idea there being that if you continue to update your LinkedIn profile as you gain work experience or additional education and skills you'll always have a current and up-to-date resume on hand to easily share with potential employers and connections you make that could lead to employment.

As you may know, LinkedIn is a professional social network and it is widely used by employment recruiters to identify potential job candidates for open positions.

Because LinkedIn is so widely used by recruiters to source talent it makes sense to have your own LinkedIn profile to make it easier for those recruiters to find you in your job search.

A company called, LinkHumans has a great blog post that showcases a video about the how to best approach building out your LinkedIn profile and they include an infographic of 10 tips for the perfect LinkedIn profile.

Here's an article from eHow.com with screen shot images showing you how to set up your LinkedIn profile log-in for the first time.  Once your log-in is set up you can edit the parts of your LinkedIn profile any time.

One of the best parts about LinkedIn is that once your profile is complete and up-to-date you can export it to a PDF so you can print it out and instantly have your resume without having had to re-key all the same information into a Word document.
